I wouldn't normally give it much thought, but I follow my upcoming TATL coach flights pretty closely to see if I might have a chance of an Op-Up and have wondered how GAs--or even OLCI--handle this. For those people who pay for an EC or preferred seat, I'd say it's unfair, but OTOH I imagine it's mainly pax with last-minute tickets--meaning they paid more to start with.
