Hey Guys (and Gals!),

I am working on transforming my parent's credit card accounts. They have not paid attention to much in the past, except Delta Skymiles through their AMEX. I currently downgraded their platinum account to a gold account simply because they were not using the companion pass that increases the annual fee.

However, last night they stated that they do not need to stay loyal to Delta if not necessary/another program is better. They do still have about 100k in SM.

My question to you guys (because I do not know much about redeeming DSM in comparison to other rewards programs) is whether DSM is a great redemption program for international flights.

They plan to go to Rome next year so they are currently working to get miles towards that.

Side note: I signed my mom up for a CSP for the sign-up bonus to use with Hyatt and SW, as well as Chase Giftcards to pay mortgage, etc through BlueBird. So right now they stand with a gold DSM (both) and CSP (mom).
