my thoughts:
>>2) We have worked with a number of factories that are offering the detachable wheels option
i think the return on this as a benefit to customers is neglible and as you pointed out, could cause a lot of post-purchase complications for you.
imo, you'd be better off focusing on improving/upgrading the quality & build of various components on your bags, such as the plastic hanger, zippers, etc as mentioned in the garment bag review.
>>3) Lightweight materials - there are some really clever lightweight + very strong synthetics available now
always something to strive for as long as it's not at the cost of durability.
>>4) Integrated chargers : we would make this an optional extra for the user to carry.
if you're talking about providing an integrated battery option for devices, i'd scrap it. i prefer to use my own battery and i also wouldn't want to have it tied it being near the bag.
my travel luggage consists of B&R, Tom Bihn, and Samsonite. if you can get the level of quality in your product to their standards, esp. the first two, word of mouth will get you customers. wouldn't hurt to have a better guaranty though yours at 5 yrs (?) ain't bad.
