I'm flying BA F from LHR to BOS (avios booking) and then AS Y from BOS to SAN on a separate ticket. Based on the above, I should not expect BA to check my baggage all the way to SAN. Correct? (Yes, I realize that I would still have to claim and then re-drop my baggage even if it's checked through to SAN but that would be preferable to carrying my baggage between two terminals at opposite ends of the airport at BOS.)
