Not that applauding bothers me, I question why we should be so amazed by this as opposed to any other technological advance. Do we applaud when our train gets us to our destination in two hours when just two centuries ago, the same trip would have taken days of bone-crunching travel in a horse and carriage over terrible roads? Or that we can read something on a screen which someone else has written just moments before, half a world away?

At some point, every technological innovation which would indeed be miraculous to generations before must become commonplace, else we would never progress to the next technological innovation.
