I think it's sweet. Obviously I would never do anything so unsophisticated though.

I'm not sure about this "European" thing. I've definitely seen it in Europe on less than 1 in 200 or so flights, though I rarely do summer charters.

If there's any one commonality I've found it tends to be on flights with immigrants coming home - Armenians and North-Africans are examples.
