Doesn't really seem fair, especially, since many of us will refill about an exit or two away from the airport to save a quarter/per gallon or so.
Good point. Perhaps we need to start having one of the attendants check the reading when we pick up as well. If nothing else, the extra work might convince Avis that its more trouble than its worth.
