I haven't seen this before, but shouldn't this go both ways?

e.g. if they get to see the out number, shouldn't we also be able to see, to tenth-gallon precision, how much fuel is in the tank?

Doesn't really seem fair, especially, since many of us will refill about an exit or two away from the airport to save a quarter/per gallon or so.
