As noted, PC status means little at IC branded properties so you will not receive an upgrade in either case. The hotel may merge your stay by upgrading your award to the same level as the one you booked as paid nights, but certainly not to the Club. You can likely purchase Club access for about $60 a person per night.

If you want upgrades at IC branded properties, as explained above, you must join the Ambassador program. The upgrade will be one category though that would not cover your award nights.
