Very true, although for me personally the biggest downside would not be denied access to ACs but rather other OW lounges (which most US airports I tend to use have).

Say, the OW lounge in MIA, QF/BA lounge in DFW. But of course only the OP can decide whether this is a feature they are interested in or not.
