I think it's safe to assume from this comment that the OP has a rather basic understanding of how IT systems work.

Any company has to decide to what level is acceptable to test an IT system before putting it into production. Of course it is not great to see a "Woman using laptop" on an iphone screen but this is hardly going to make a plane fall from the sky.

More critical systems are thoroughly tested and designed according to safety engineering principals. Of course, doing this has a huge impact on costs. If I was a major shareholder on BA, I'd be very concerned if they applied the same level of reliability and testing to every single IT system regardless of purpose.
