Hi there,
I am new to the AA forum so please forgive me if this has been asked sometime before.
Next month I will be flying to PDX via DFW and two months ago when I booked my ticket (1 person, coach) on the AA website I was more than surprised to see this:
AA.com - USD 1190
americanairlines.de - EUR 1780 - USD 2351 (approx.)
Difference - USD 1161
That is almost enough for someone else to come along with me. You can guess where I finally booked the ticket - I was so glad they accepted my non-US credit card

How can that be? Does AA use different fares and different booking systems on different sites for different countries?
Does anybody have some insights into this to share - that would be interesting. Do they block certain fare buckets in some countries? I know I will be travelling during the holiday season in Germany but I still do not see any justification for such a significant fare difference.
They can't seriously expect me to pay twice the fare just because I am based in FRA and because americanairlines.de is likely to be the website where Germans will book their AA tickets.
