It varies per property but it is up to the night auditors to handle these types of situations. Regardless of the PMS system, the system automatically suggests that any reservations for that "business day" to be marked as No Shows when they turn over the system at whatever time (can be midnight, 2 AM, etc ...). They could open up each reservation to view the ETA but it is a pain (although it's not like they're doing anything else at 2 AM). However, what they can do is to move you to the next day (if the ETA field is filled out) and, when you check in, manually charge you for the night.



It all depends on the specific hotels audit procedures as each hotel is unique in the number of staff available and needs for that hotel. If I remember correctly, I believe Micros Opera recommends hotels to move to the next day and then cancel if they don't show up by morning (although I have to dig up that check list again).
