Apology if this is covered elsewhere. I was trying to use avios to upgrade a SYD to HKG flight booked on Cathay Pacific, and I've just had a conversation with a BA rep who told me that avios can't be used to upgrade Cathay flights. I thought the whole point of Oneworld was that you could share things like this.
