BDL arrival delayed until after midnight; Budget cancels reservation/coupon
My brother (not a FF) had a 7:30 pm Budget reservation (Costco code) last night at BDL. Because of thunderstorms, the flight did not arrive until 12:30 am. His wife called ahead and informed Budget of the situation.
Budget canceled his reservation and was going to charge him the enormous walk-up rate. All other car rental companies at the airport were closed.
He got on his smartphone and booked a new Costco reservation for immediate pickup, with a higher daily rate.
So his 5-day deal turned into a 4-day deal, with the cost $40 higher all-in.
Is this normally the way Budget handles things? Thanks.
