I'd love to counter-check the car seat. That's ideal actually, but I didn't want to get reamed for the $35 2nd bag fee, and the US website is a little ambivalent about a stroller AND a car seat. It actually says one OR the other. And I didn't know whether to test the counter agent on a minute detail of their policy and risk the bag fee & then a ticked off spouse carrying a baby who will likely pick that moment to start crying.
If you dont want to pay the fee, you can risk it by actually gate checking the car seat. Problem will be though, as
ITRADE indicates above, that the gate wont have those nice thick plastic bags to wrap it up with.
Technically speaking, you'll "Valet" the stroller (green or yellow tag), and gate-check the car seat (it'll get a real printed out luggage tag and will be checked to your final destination).
