Never had a problem on US with a stroller and a carseat. Check the carseat in at the front counters (no fee). They used to give you a medium-duty polypropylene bag to cover the seat although I'm not sure if that is provided anymore.

Check the stroller planeside; it will be returned to you in a similar fashion as gated checked luggage on Express flights.
