For the past year, my friends and I have been working on a project to make the travel experience a whole lot better. We've created LoungeBuddy: an App for the iPhone that makes it painless to discover your airport oasis with a few simple taps.

What does this all mean? Tell us about your elite statuses, lounge memberships (including Priority Pass and Lounge Club), credit card programs, and airline/destination/class of service information, and we’ll tell you all of the airport lounges available to you and the number of guests you may bring in with you at no cost. In addition, we allow you to be a part of the LoungeBuddy community by being able to view and rate these lounges as well as view and add photos to discover (and help others discover) the right lounge for their needs.

Of course, we also tell you the important information about each venue such as the location, operating hours, description, and the amenities each lounge offers. Think of the LoungeBuddy community as your single resource for airport lounge information and place to share your photos, tips, and reviews of each airport oasis.

At the moment, we’re in private beta and are working hard to have the best possible product in place before we launch publically in the very near future. For those who don’t have elite status, memberships, special credit cards, or fly in premium cabins, LoungeBuddy is still for you! Approximately 1 in 4 airport lounges offers you the ability to access the facilities for a one-time fee. With LoungeBuddy in your pocket, you’ll know which lounges offer this access as well as the amenities you can expect to receive with your payment.

For our friends in the US Military and their families, we’ve included the USO lounges. Located in many airports, these lounges are free of charge and offer a place to relax before/after your flights. Be sure to select your military status in your LoungeBuddy profile and we’ll highlight the free access to these special lounges.
