Yes the Business fares usually hold. You might try a local TA in the US though as recently there have been some EI GDS business class fares that were actually cheaper than EI.COM

AFAIK you can only get UA miles on the UA codeshare so you must be booked on the UA flight number and not the EI one. You may have to choose between getting miles or a cheap Business fare.
