Do you think that if one of us really ran for it, and tried to "hold" up for the rest of our group that we'd have an even better shot?

I'll likely talk about this with our flight attendants as well so they are informed of our tight connections. I've seen them be helpful before, but I"ve never had one this tight, and people - being people, may still get out in front of you even at the request to stay seated for others.
