I wasn't totally clear there - I'm most interested there because then UR will allow you to burn BA Avios on short hauls of the combined AA-US network, plus continue to provide access to the best (IMHO) *A award chart. Of course, MR will also let you transfer to Avios and its net position doesn't change, but UR strengthens at that point if you happen to live in the Northeast where US is prevalent.
I'm thinking Amex Plat will continue to provide lounge access. I do hope that the combined US-AA lounge network will allow access without a boarding pass on AA metal like the US policy does.
