Err... not sure what you've read, but couldn't have been this thread - as we're you to have, you'd see that pretty much what we know is that we don't know
More or less, you have high chances, but no guarantees, that you'll have QS. Keep an eye on the seatmap - if you're REALLY paranoid, track the previous day's departures on FlightAware from ICN. Now that there are only five QS birds, it's a bit easier to track them
See if one of them left for LAX - if so then you're getting it next day. If not, then oops.
To be honest, though, I wouldn't bother - unless you are able to pivot on a dime and reroute your flights one day prior. Just let it be a surprise and don't worry about it. Sure, it'd suck to fly the old config, but what's your other option - UA? At least the food is excellent on OZ - QS or not.
