Absolutely right - this is what happened. Seat selection possible on SN website at no extra cost. Bag checked through all the way to EDI even though LH only checked me in KBP-FRA-BRU and I had to check in with SN separately for BRU-EDI.
Incidentally, free snack and drink on board SN operated by FlyBE as opposed to SN's usual food for purchase only arrangement, which is also what was advertised on the boarding pass.
