First flight from/to LCY

Hubby & I have just had a 3 night break in PMI, which was really enjoyable & somewhere we intend to return to, albeit it at a cooler time of year!

Anyway, we flew from LCY for the first time and I was pretty impressed. We arrived at 05:30am for a 06:55 flight, bag dropped, which was quick, although slightly chaotic then we had a bite to eat in Pret before going through security, which was very quick. We didn't bother looking round the shops, just headed to the gate and boarded.

We had seats 24A&B, enough leg room for hubby who is 5'10" so more than enough for me at 5'. Took off pretty much on time, nice & friendly crew, decent breakfast - scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, tomato & mushrooms with a cup of tea. This breakfast was better than the greasy, fatty bacon roll we got in CW on our last long haul!.

Our return this morning was also good. We did OLCI and got seats 25A&B, so lots of leg room and it was a quiet flight. We hit a bit of a snag at PMI when we bag dropped. We handed my CX gold card to the check in agent to get fast track security and were refused. I explained a couple of times that we got the fast track access with this card but she wouldn't have it. Hubby didn't want to cause a fuss as the queue behind us was growing, so we left, only to be chased after by another check in agent who apologised and stamped our boarding pass.

Security was the quickest we've ever been through, quick shop in duty free then headed to the lounge. Pretty basic lounge but had a few sandwiches and a couple of glasses of wine. Went to the gate at 2.30 for our 2.55pm flight.

Again, crew friendly and efficient, the sandwich box was a bit disappointing, but we managed to get a few bottles of wine & beer. Landed dead on time and we walked through our front door 70 minutes later.

I would definitely fly from LCY again, granted it's not huge but for short haul breaks, and it being only half an hour's drive from us, it's perfect.
