Sorry for this newbie question, but I don't quite see how the seats in Club Europe on the Embraer 170/190 are bigger than the regular economy seats? This on is the London City Airport flights to FRA.

Both sections have 4 seats per row, with only 2 inches more pitch in CE. Seat Guru claims that the seats in CE are 2 inches wider, but not clear how that works, unless the aisle is narrower in CE? What's the secret here?

I see that Lufthansa blocks alternating seats in the business section of their London City Airport flights, but that's not what BA seem to do.
