Why Alaska Changes Award Level 330 days out?

I've been following the 'release' of Alaska's award seats to Hawaii from SEA and BLI for a few weeks now, as I plan to book four tickets at Super Saver level for June/July 2014, and I wanted to see the release pattern.

I've already figured out that for certain destinations (like YVR to LAX for example) they release a whole bunch of super saver seats the full 330 days out, but for others (like my desired Hawaii routes) they do not. In fact, for some dates on the calendar, they appear to release them at the highest award redemption and then lower them a few days later (I noticed this with BLI to HNL for Jun 14).. I am confused by this pattern!

It's obvious to me that AS is very stingy with releasing Super Saver award seats on Hawaii flights 330 days out, as they feel they may sell revenue tickets, but isn't there a minimum requirement of how many SS seats they need to release? And what's the logic in the award redemption level changing only two days after release?

I thought about booking two sets of one ways to ensure I get tickets as soon as they are released, but now I am thinking this a bad move if award levels change so arbitrarily.

I would love to hear from anyone that has experience booking award tickets to Hawaii - esp in the summer when the demand is still fairly high, but the # of flights decrease considerably, or anyone that can explain this pattern.
