They may well quote the lower fare if you call in and give them the exact fare you found on Expedia. The problem is that dl.com does not do a good job if searching fir the best fare constructs (other than ATL<>LAX etc).

The general answer in this situation is to call in and ask for the phone fee to be waived in the basis that dl..com is not quoting the fare you want to buy.

As far as the consolidator fare and no MQMs, there have been virtually no reports of this being found in the real world outside of packages. If ths was common, you would have 100s of posts here in such, So just booking via Expedia is an option.
