Renaissance La Defense (Puteaux) Paris
I used this hotel a lot in the late 90s when I went to Paris on business. I have just spent a Friday and Saturday there to reflect on old times etc. First thing the location makes it OK getting from CDG by taxi (about 60-70 Euros each way), but taxis into the city can make a stay a bit more expnsive (allow 30 Euros each way), the RER train system links well with the Metro and is a cheaper option.
There is a small lounge which although open 24/7 does not have any food offerings over the weekend. Just fruit, soft drinks, tea and coffee. However as a Plat I did get a voucher for breakfast each morning in the restaurant - which is bette than what you would get during the week. Note that when it gets busy the staff seem completely disorganised so waiting for the hot dishes can take time. It was nearly 20 minutes before I could get eggs, bacon, mushroom and tomato at the same time. Also note that as the hotel is mostly used by business people the main restaurant does not open on Saturday (don't know about Sunday) but there is a reasonable menu in the bar.
