For the last few weeks, the return flight has had good availability opening up during the week prior to flying, so it looks possible that I will have the opportunity to upgrade that leg.

However, my booking is from Manchester via Heathrow, and I understand that these can't be upgraded online so I have to phone BAEC to do so.

I will not have very reliable telephone communications during that week so I want to make sure that I have everything I need in order to make the call as quick and easy as possible should availability open up. I have always done all my bookings online, so haven't previously phoned BA or BAEC before.

Can anyone with some experience confirm for me:

The website says to phone +44 191 490 7901 if outside the UK. I assume this is the number I will need to use, or is this for non UK residents?

I will have my BAEC number, booking ref and flight number. Is that all I will need? The booking is for three of us in a household account, so I assume that won't complicate things.

Are there any times when the lines are particularly busy? I don't want to end up spending a load of money waiting on hold. If the availability is like it has been for the last few weeks then it probably won't be too time critical, as it has been there for a few days.

Sorry for the fairly basic questions, but I'd hate to miss an opportunity for the want of a bit of information.
I just booked a WT+-->CW "Book With Cash, UuA" flight from PHX-LHR-FCO (In the U.S.) I only upgraded the TATLs as these were the only with Club availability. Your call center could be drastically different, but I was on hold for maybe three minutes before I booked the flight. AFAIK, you only need your locator, probably your EC number, and DOB.
