I too was caught up in the mess last Friday. Got to my hotel at 4am after spending 3.5 hours on the tarmac at LHR. I am a newbie dope, but if I understand well I am not entitled to any compensation for the delay. I did not have out of pocket expenses as I took the N9 (quite an entertaining experience, I'd recommend it). However, I still think I should somehow be compensated for the enormous inconvenience as it made my weekend trip all the shorter.
