Disagree! It is actually food you will find all over households, just probably not daily. Plus when I go there during business hours they always have some real food such as freshly cooked rice and "kofte" (meatballs) which is quite typical Turkish food, and disappears very fast when the chefs bring it out!

Although I haven't been there in a year, so can't say if they don't do that any longer.
