Staff travel doesn't always work out so well (e.g. the risk of being bumped, or the commercial fares are better etc), so it's sometimes easier for the crew to just book the commercial fare (or at least the hotline fare etc).

When I stopped being on staff travel I thought how will I cope. But now, for sure not missing the stressful monents, for example once in Cancun when staff told me my next flight was in 5 days. However I somehow managed to get on a plane that day.
