BA's "reasonable" out of pocket expenses?
Having been caught up in the LHR trauma last Friday when the fire on the Ethiopian air plane closed the airport, my 20;05 LHR-EDI was cancelled at around midnight.
Luckily, I had a place to stay in East London so didn't suffer as badly as a number of passengers in the lounge. But I had to get a taxi - as per the instruction from the lounge staff, submit a claim for the expense. So £75 of private hire car (with receipts) getting me across London at 2:30am.
So claim form submitted, recipts sent and BA advise they consider just £50 to be reasonable for my journey and will pay no more. Which would be true perhaps if tubes/trains were running but as they were not I see this as their entire liability.
Has anyone had success in getting the entire cost reimbursed?
