If I'm at the gate, and they tell me the flight's delayed an hour, I'm going to the lounge, a restaurant, or a bar, and coming back in time to board for the delayed time.
Been there, done that, missed my flight. Weather delays at LGA. GA said 45 minutes until boarding (already delayed). Went to get a bite to eat, was back in less than 30, flight had already loaded and left. Had to rent a car and drive from LGA to NoVA to get home that night.
