If you have a BR flight and have the *G status on file, just scan the BP. Otherwise, be prepared your *G physical card with you to show.
OP doesn't have a *G card but a United Club card, which is branded as "Star Alliance Lounge" - according to *A access rules it grants access to *A member airlines' business class lounges, not all *Gold lounges.
They are generally quite problematic to use as they don't really exist outside of UA and US (any others?) so many non-US airlines rarely see them.
