Hawk, I can't let that comment go, I don't quite know how you got to the 'discarded mining equipment' but if you took the
little train on the very steep railway, then you may like to know, that the railway was created in around 1882 to take the coal miners down to the coal mine entrance near the valley floor and bring the coal back up, thats why they are showing old mining equipment. As coal mining was and still is one the most important industries in New South Wales, coal mines have a historically importance to the state.
