There is also no process to get your bags off the plane. It's always through checked.

Had a pretty bad experience going to a business meeting, was assured all of the above is possible and then spent money to fix Emirates' errors.

Confused. UK citizen so no visa issues. Going back to BA to be honest.
That is rubbish, very easily doable. Why do you want your bags for a 24 hour stopover, leave them checked in transit and have a carry on. Nothing stopping you leaving the airport if you don't need a visa.
