I'm probably responding to your post further up; my initial post was in response to the bemoaning of Jersey's lack of a flight to a hub airport (since demolished by others) and I was simply making the point that it seems well served, given its real (as opposed to perceived position). After all, Cornwall has 5 times the population and it doesn't have a flight to a hub airport
As for Guernsey, it's a while since I've been there but have fond memories - still didn't meet anyone in business/finance whom I'd assign to run anything larger than a bank branch, however.
Never been to Inverness; Birmingham is a regional finance centre in a much more realistic fashion than any of the offshore ones and historically financed world class engineering companies.
BHX was my first landing point in the UK so retains a charmed place in my heart.
