Of course, you will get all regular HHonors Gold benefits. No difference in benefits for paid vs. reward stays.
HHonors is not like IHG Rewards, where you are treated as nobody if you use your award points.

Enjoy your stay in Auckland and please post a review. I am considering a reward stay there myself!
