I believe MD80s routinely fly a little bit lower than 737s, although pressurization should negate that. I notice during pilot speeches that MD80s tend to fly in the lower to mid 30K feet while 737s fly in the mid to high 30K.

I notice no difference flying any vessel, however, I self-equalize on almost every breath; maybe it's a scuba diving habit.
