As the master quote says: All good things must come to an end. Descend starts

Took 07L for arrival, this was either Shenzhen or Tuen Muen. Too dark to see.
We parked at Gate 4, the long one which stretches out at the side of the terminal and you need to take a 90 degree turn before getting to the plane. Greeted with a fresh gust of warm air once stepping off the 777. There was NO circulation at all in the jetway. There was air-con in the terminal but still pretty warm. Already feeling the HK summer heat

. Ultimately cleared immigration and collected my bags at about 04:30. First flight of the day to touch down (think CX845 came 2nd and 883 took the final podium place), never seen HKIA so quiet and bare. Flight was once again fabulous. This time it was second lucky in being able to secure a successful redemption on such a long flight flying halfway across the world. Hopefully I'll get third time lucky next time
A slight hassle at the end of the trip was that the miles credited into my account for this flight was only for Economy class. I already upsold my ticket to Premium Economy R fare before flying this sector so I should very well be getting the PEY miles. I know it's probably less than 1K difference, I just don't wanna kick myself real hard when I see another award in the air in the future and I'm only short by that little bit. Took a PEY trip this winter during their "double AM miles if you fly PEY", forgot to register for this promotion before flying the outbound leg and threw away 8000 miles

. That's why I'm going after every extra mile I can find these days.
