But if I book "UA7721" economy K class, which is operated by Swiss Air, do I get miles because it was a UA flight number? Or I don't get miles because it was operated by Swiss as a K class? Thanks.
It depends on what fare class the operating carrier (Swiss) books you into. The fact that United is selling it as a K is not relevant to anything.
This is one reason to avoid codeshares. It can be difficult/impossible to determine mileage accrual in advance because you don't know what UA's fare class translates into on the operating carrier.
