Given it takes hotels a couple of days to get round to actually charging the cc, I'm expected the cc to be billed for this new total, even though it was the proper 2-person total I agreed to on the IHG website.
No doubt this will be fixable with a phone call, but I am wondering what is going on with the hotels' booking systems that results in an extra person being added randomly to bookings.
I'm assuming others have seen this anomaly ?
I have had this happen on numerous occasions, even showing the third person charge, but the hotels have never tried to take that charge. I think it is a system issue which emerges when the hotel go into the booking and allocate a room or make another change (not adding a third person).
Call the hotel to put your mind at rest, but this happens on almost all my bookings.
