I've have a few bookings over this last year, whereby after the hotel looked at the booking, the number of adults booked changed from 2 to 3. Just had another one do the same thing. But this time there is an "extra person charge", and the total cost is revised upwards accordingly. This is an adv purchase booking done just yesterday, but updated by the hotel today. Given it takes hotels a couple of days to get round to actually charging the cc, I'm expected the cc to be billed for this new total, even though it was the proper 2-person total I agreed to on the IHG website.

No doubt this will be fixable with a phone call, but I am wondering what is going on with the hotels' booking systems that results in an extra person being added randomly to bookings.

I'm assuming others have seen this anomaly ?
