Yes and no. I'm not familiar with the ICE trojan. Malware works in a number of ways. One way is by infecting executable programs. Another way is by infecting certain data file types, e.g. PDF. Trojans frequently examine all attached drives looking for something to infect. If it found a compatible file type on the USB drive, it could infect it. Then, when you run the executable, or open the data file, it would spread to whatever machine you opened it on. However, I'm not aware of any malware so sophisticated that, merely opening a USB drive on a computer will activate the virus and spread the infection.
