I flew 875 a few days ago and chatted with one of the SEA based FA's about the switch over. She said it took everyone by surprise. The reason given was that the 787 would be more competitive on this route. The SEA FA base is staying open, but she was not sure what her future looked like...has been doing the SEA->NRT run for years and was not excited about going to be all domestic flying. She was hoping that maybe when sUA got their 787's delivered the route could switch back as it could be more cost-effective for SEA based FA's to operate the route than crews from Houston or Newark.
