No infrastructure projects in this country ever get the go-ahead it seems, just endless consultations, evaluations, consultants getting rich, inquiries, more inquiries, yet more delays.
The Victorians built thousands of miles of railway 150 years ago, we built motorways in the 60s through to the 80s and LHR, LGW, MAN, STN since the war. Now all we can do is plan, consult and delay

There are a lot of vested interests that do very well out of all that planning, consultation and delay.
Not that I'm at all cynical or anything.
