Yes. The guy comes across as complete insane at times. The whole idea of making an airport which would involve a high percentage of travellers having to go through London or around the M25 seems ridiculous.
Not just that, but there are over 100,000 people in the local area whose jobs directly depend on Heathrow. I wonder just where Boris thinks he will find 100,000+ skilled but unemployed airport workers in Kent or the Thames Estuary to replace them or does he expect all those people to move?
Apparently if Heathrow were to close, local unemployment in Hounslow would rise to well over 25%. But it would be OK because there would be 1,000s of extra houses for them to live in
