Yes they all sound great don't they but we need them now. I'm not into trains at all but you can't fail to be bowled over by the setup and rolling stock of some of our European neighbours.
I believe a high speed Beijing to Moscow line is being looked into and could be finished long before a third runway at LHR
But I agree we need to do something and fast. That BBC LHR programme showed locals up for a third runway.
