Years ago when I went from Gold to Platinum, the property refused to acknowledge Platinum status because the points were not yet posted and therefore I was "Gold in the system." So YMMV.
This was my experience, plus the hotel's sales manager rudely told me that I would never be Plat because that required not only 50 nights but also 50 stays at different hotels. This is the way a LC property treated a guest after over eighty nights. <She seems to be gone from the hotel.>
